Tibet Gets New National Parks

According to the Chinese People's Daily, Tibet will be getting 3 new national parks as part of a new 5-year plan announced recently. The parks, according to the paper, will be:

  • Brahmaputra Grand Canyon National Park
  • Mount Everest National Park
  • Namtso National Park

All encompassing some pretty amazing territory, it seems like this is a positive step by the Chinese government to recognize and protect some of the fragile and pristine regions of the Tibetan Plateau.

Hopefully there will be more like this to come!
