MountainFilm & Outside In Aspen: Join In the Fun & Conversation!

image from www.mountainfilm.orgIn my line of work, I'm honored to be able to participate in a lot of great events across   the country and around the world.

In the next two weeks, I'll be a part of some exciting ones: Telluride MountainFilm and Outside In Aspen.

MountainFilm (May 27-30, 2011) is an event I've sadly never been to before, since I'm usually climbing in the Himalaya at this time of year. But, I'm honored this year to be a part of the event, judging films for the Charlie Fowler Award and participating in a Coffee Talk on Saturday morning about K2, the world's second highest peak. Along with Jennifer Jordan, Freddie Wilkinson, and Geoff Tabin, we'll discuss the alure and temperament of "the savage mountain".

MountainFilm is known for diving deep into important topics, and this year's festival keeps that tradition alive with the theme of Awareness Into Action. Coupled with intriguing films, MountainFilm will be joined this year by an amazing lineup of guests, including Wade Davis, Terry Tempest Williams, and many more. Adventure, action, awareness…it's all happening in Telluride this weekend.

As with last year, my First Ascent teammates Melissa Arnot and Ben Stookesberry will be there, along with friends Michael Brown, Tyler Hamilton, Peter McBride, and more. I'll be helping with some rock climbing clinics, as well as just having a great time in the amazing Roaring Fork Valley.

So, mark your calendars for these great events, and enjoy all that Colorado has to offer!
