#Ecuador produces only 0.1% of the world's #greenhouse gasses, but like many similar nations around the world, it is experiencing some of the fastest and most dramatic climate change. This young #Kichwa girl (known as #Quechua in Peru, #Inga in Colombia) lives in the shadow of the country's most famous summit, #Cotopaxi. At 5,897 m (19,347 ft), Cotopaxi is the second-highest peak in Ecaudor, one of the tallest volcanoes in the world, and hosts some of the globe's last equatorial glaciers. These glaciers supply most of the water for #Quito, the nation's capital and home to 2.7 million people. And, for the local Kichwa, the glacial outflows from Cotopaxi are the lifeblood of existence. But, this girl, the Kichwa, Quechua, Inga, and so many mountain people and places around the globe don't have a voice at the upcoming #COP21 #UNFCCC discussions in #Paris. Let's help give them one.
